The Makita® 18 V X2 LXT® hedge trimmer (model XHU04PT) is powered by two 18 V LXT® batteries (36 V), so you get 36 V power and run time for gas powered demands, without leaving the 18 V LXT® platform. Model XHU04PT is a kit and includes two fast charging 18 V LXT® 5 Ah batteries and an 18 V dual-port charger that will charge two batteries simultaneously for increased productivity and less downtime. Its part of Makita® expanding 18 V lithium-ion system, the worlds largest cordless tool system powered by 18 V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18 V lithium-ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita® created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the star protection equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita® 18 V LXT® and compact lithium-ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. The XHU04PT hedge trimmer has a 25-1/2 in blade and the Makita® built motor delivers 3600 spm for increased cutting speed, but with less noise.
