Down to earth coconut coir is an all natural, eco-friendly peat alternative made from coconut husks. This coconut coir fiber is a compressed, all-purpose medium shredded fiber and pith blend that makes an excellent addition to potting mixes to provide structure. It is an excellent amendment for all types of potting media, from seed starting to large containers, because it promotes optimal aeration and drainage and can hold up to 10X its own weight in water.
